Plaza Youth Theatre is the resident theatre company for the Plaza Theatre Stockport.It is self funding from the subscriptions of cast members and all production staff are voluntary and CRB cleared. It is open to young people from the age of 4 upwards and aims to provide an opportunity to learn stage and cinema craft whilst giving unique access to a professional working environment in Stockport's premier theatre and cinema. Members of PLAZA YOUTH can work on stage as actors, singers, dancers, or behind the scenes on props, costume, lights, sound or stage management (technical back stage staff must be over sixteen). PLAZA YOUTH performs many types of shows both within the plaza itself and on location. It will performing many different types of production from musical theatre to Shakespeare, from old time music hall, (acknowledging the PLAZA's history), to cutting edge multi-media presentations (making full use of the PLAZA's cinematic capabilities).

We are driven by the ideal of 'by young people for young people' and with the exception of the producers and the stage manager all the current production team are under the age of 25.

Members are required to pay a one-off membership fee of £25 pounds and sessios subscriptions of £5 if you attend more than one session per week each subsequent session is £2.50

We have now moved into our own dedicated rehearsal space which means will be able to offer more young people in stockport the chance to join and perform with PLAZA YOUTH!
